Artist's Comments

Earlier shot that I decided to re-post.
This one is a bit different than the first one.
But it is still a wagon all the same..

I'm liking the mood in this version, J.P. It feels like a forgotten memory. Very old--which it is. Great color in this--like a painting. A little surreal, but it could easily be a Louis Lamour cover shot  I think this is the wagon Tell and Ange Sackett were in when they were ambushed! Gret book and this shot evokes memories of it.

Now I gotta go dig out my copy and read it again

Excellent work, my friend! :+fav:

You're welcome J.P. :) I'll bet I've read just about every Louis Lamour book he wrote at least 4 times. I used to have the leatherbound collection, but I suppose that ugly bald-headed chud my ex married pitched them or maybe they burned with all my notebooks way back when.

Anyway--I'm glad ya like the comments

Very atmospheric piece Jon,you can see the miles and life of love and tears the wagon has seen through it`s time perfectly in your capture and the moody skyline really compliments the vibrant foreground...excellent Pal!

Was reading the comments and had to laugh, I'm currently on a Louis L'Amour kick to the point I've downloaded some on my Kindle reader.

Now that is cool.. That makes two of us.
I lost track of most of mine, but I am tryin to re-collect all the
first edition leather bound one's..

You do know that I named my Oldest son after one of the characters in a L Lamour book.

I think anyone that burns a book like that should be strung up.
I'll get the rope!!

I could tell another story hahaha! I'd better hold my horses this time and make it shorter

Lovely... I love these wagons !!! I used to go by train (11 hours !) from our capital city to my uncle's farm
and they picked us up with a tractor or with these wagons... It was SO enjoyable !
The smell of the road, the anticipation of the vacations, riding, fishing, hunting bats on the forbidden places,
night walks with scary stories...

I guess I was a lucky child and had a great childhood after all :D

Thanks for these moments or "reminiscing"
